Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on the Indian National Congress accusing the party of preparing a model of politics where there is a blend of lies, fraud, corruption, nepotism and appeasement.
Replying to discussion in Rajya Sabha on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address today, Modi said, “Where there is a blend of all these things (fraud, corruption, nepotism and appeasement), there can be no 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas'. The supreme in Congress' model is 'family first', and that is why their policies, their tone has been involved in managing that...." says PM Modi.”
He added, “I say this proudly and satisfactorily that for a long time, the country did not have an opportunity to find an alternative model. After 2014, the country saw a new model of working style... This new model is not based on appeasement, but on satisfaction. In the earlier models, particularly during Congress rule, there was appeasement in everything.”
He said, “If you analyse Congress, the principle of their politics has always been to shorten someone else's line, and because of this, they destabilised governments... The path they chose to shorten other's line, those who were with them in Lok Sabh (polls), are now running away from them.”
Previously, Modi also took a dig at Lok Sabha’s LoP Rahul Gandhi by stating, “...Those who have photo sessions in the huts of the poor, for their own entertainment, will find the mention of the poor in Parliament boring.”
